FUEL PRICES
In light of the significant increase in fuel prices, several union organizations in the health network (APTS, FSQ-CSQ, FP-CSN, FSSS-CSN, CUPE-FTQ, and SQEES-FTQ) have reached out to the MSSS and the CPNSSS to denounce the insufficiency of adjustments to travel expense reimbursements.
The $0.005/km increase granted by the Treasury Board on April 1, 2026, does not cover the actual costs borne by staff, particularly those who travel daily to provide home care and services. This situation results in an unfair transfer of rising costs onto workers and reduces their purchasing power.
The union organizations are therefore calling for the rapid implementation of a temporary compensation measure to ensure that work-related expenses are not borne by employees.
