When to contact my Union?

When a problematic event occurs, take a moment to step back.

We encourage you to first communicate with your manager and human resources. We expect that you have already taken some steps to improve the situation. Of course, your union is here to support you if needed.

Your union also encourages you to reach out to your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) if you are seeking emotional support in a difficult situation.

When the collective agreement and your employee rights are not respected, and nothing seems to move with the employer, contact us. Please note: when an incident occurs, we have 30 days to file a grievance. Do not delay in reaching out to us.

We represent over 700 members. Even if you know someone in your union executive, always provide your full name, job title, work location, and employee number.

We kindly ask that you do not contact executive members via their individual or work email addresses. This allows us to keep a record of our communications, and it also helps executive members maintain a clear separation between their union duties and their regular work responsibilities.

Write to us in detail about the issue encountered (including dates, witnesses, and facts), as well as your expectations regarding the situation.
This way, the union representative receiving your email can forward it to the person best positioned to support you.

You can contact your union at union@sttcstu.onmicrosoft.com
